My African dream; Last night in paradise. Part 3
I then saw myself in another planet, but with familiar faces all around me. It seemed to be the same street that I currently live in. But the set up was different and beautiful. The rugged and constantly blocked and smelly drainage that passed in front of our compound had been rebuilt and modernized. Our street was lighted up like a Christmas tree in June as all street lights were functioning. The major road that linked our area to the main express had been repaired and was now a four lane drive.
The neighborhood health centre had been renovated and adequately equipped.
There seemed to be constant power supply as the light bulbs did not blink. Our area that's popularly known as a slum in Lagos looked like New York city.
I walked down to the tap in the compound and surprisingly clean water flowed out.
I then proceeded to the horrid and smelly bathroom at the back of the house, with my bucket of crystal clear water, but it was gone and in it's place was a nice bathroom with marble floor and a shower. I didn't even need to have fetched any water.
I turned on the shower and proceeded to go under it's cool water, when a loud bang on my door startled me. I jumped up from my bed confused, wondering at the alteration in the environment I was coming from and my present reality. The loud bang on my door continued, and I heard a female voice muttering curses at the other side of the door. With a heavy sigh and a loud hiss I proceeded to unlock the door.
When exactly I thought; will a change come for me? And not just for me, for my country and her people ..............
